Regiones Instrumentales (1977)

21 – 99 piece orchestra and a very large space or spaces – indeterminate duration

This work borrows its name from the earlier work, Regiones Vocales (and some of its content is recycled from the composer’s earlier works). It is a do it yourself piece in the sense that there are individual and group parts that can be played in the space when the individuals and groups want to. Its score includes images regarding musician placement in the space and how to deal with the modules of music in the score which includes some unusual instruments, such as the kazoo.

Excerpts from a performance at the Universiteit van Groningen follow made during a Dada/Surrealism event as well as the work’s score.
